What You Can Do in UKG

  • Review your current benefit elections.
  • Update personal information (address, beneficiaries).
  • Make changes during open enrollment or qualifying life events.
  • Access important benefit documents and forms.

Before choosing benefits, make sure you understand who is eligible, who you can cover, and when changes can be made.

Who Is Eligible

Employees working 30+ hours per week

Who You Can Cover

Spouses and dependent children. Spousal carve-out rule: An employee’s spouse who has medical coverage available from his or her employer’s group health plan is not eligible for medical coverage under this plan.

If your spouse is employed full-time and his or her employer offers medical coverage, your spouse is not allowed to be covered under the Maple Leaf Farms medical plans. If your spouse does not have coverage offered by their employer and you want to add your spouse to the medical plan the Spousal Carve-Out Form is required.

When Changes Can Be Made

During open enrollment or after a qualifying life event. You have 30 days from the event to create a life event in UKG and provide documentation. Examples of qualifying life events:

  • Marriage or divorce
  • Birth or adoption of a child
  • Loss of other coverage
  • A dependent losing eligibility
  • A change in employment status
  • Other events allowed by the plan and applicable rules
